So the other day my sister brought someone up and I automatically said, "Oh I don't like her." When asked why, I really didn't have a reason. I find myself doing that so often. Someone will bring up a person and I'll just spout off, "I don't like her," "I don't like them." Usually I don't really have that great of a reason.
One of my New Years resolutions is to try and say, "Oh I really like them!" more often. I think we dislike people all the time for such stupid reasons. Maybe for the way they talk, the way the dress or the friends that they have. I may be the only person around who actually does this, but I think it's important that we quit letting everyone know who we do and don't like all the time. If you don't like them, keep it to yourself. I don't live to please each and every individual so why would I care if people are fond of me or not? It isn't necessary for us to waste time on the people we don't like, seeing as how our opinions of them probably aren't that important to their lives.
How often do we bypass, "BE YE KIND ONE TO ANOTHER"? I'm sorry but this isn't an optional thing. It isn't a, "i'll be nice to that guy, but that kid over there is just way too weird." No, God calls us to be kind to EVERYONE. His love should flow from our lips every second of the day. Everyone has their bad days, but when your bad day is literally every day, then some evaluation may need to be done.
So anyways, next time you're tempted to say, "Oh I don't like them" maybe you could try finding something positive to say. I think we as a human race really lack the acts of being kind and positive.
Just a thought. :)
