Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my Strength, and my Redeemer. - Psalm 19:14
I recently stumbled upon this verse underlined in my Bible. I read it through and continued on with the devotions I was doing. Later that day, I found the words of that verse going through my mind, and I realized, this should be my constant plea. All that flows from my mouth and all that indwells my heart should please Christ in every way, shape and form. How often do we even care if what we say or think brings glory to our Creator? I know I for one am guilty of rattling off things to my friends without allowing them to hit my brain first. When we our hearts meditate on wrong things, our lives can't flow with an outward love for Jesus.
I can't get this verse out of my head, and I am so grateful to God that He allowed me to find it. This verse says that He is our STRENGTH. As independent people, we think that we are strong on our own - that we can tackle the problems of our day with some hard-work and effort. The thing is, when we believe that we are conquering each area of our life on our own, we are in reality weak.
The things we say and the meditations of our hearts can be acceptable in the sight of the Lord, because it says right here, He is our strength. There is nothing we can't do when we have Him on our side. I hope and pray this verse is as big of a blessing to you all as it is to me. Our constant prayer, our soul's desire, should be to emanate a love for Christ with the things we say and the things we think.
